This project follows the exploration initiated with Casa AB on what it means to intervene in an apartment in Barcelona's Eixample. The proposal partially takes up the reflections initiated in the first project, purifying and developing some of the concepts and solutions for an equally domestic but slightly different program. The project is located in Wuhou District, . It is a multi-storey office building in an industrial park. The original construction area is about 1,000 square meters, which is highly homogenous with other office spaces in the park. We hope to provide users with a personalized and interesting office space through reconstruction.
Yingliang Stone Natural History Museum | Rebirth of the Crystalline Space Over the years of stone mining, the manufacture has discovered numerous fossils. The manufacture decides to dedicate the headquarter building to a museum to tell the history of the fossils and the natural science of researching the fossil. There are two major challenges during the renovation process. The first one is the conflict between private headquarter and public museums. The second one is the direct sunlight gained at the atrium space. The addition of museum space will limit the deficient light to the office space even more. The archaic rock was first discovered at the crystalized base inside the landmass. Those crystalloids become how they look like today through a long term of high temperature, high pressure, mixture, and accumulation. The original form of the stone, its crystal structure, brings us a new architectural language.

The rehabilitation comprises three contiguous buildings in the rural settlement of Castromao, belonging to Ourense province. The goal is to transform the old farmers’ houses, currently abandoned and strongly deteriorated, into a dwelling by annexing the three spaces that were originally independent. Designing a house is an experience in immersion and connection. Happy House is the result of a close relationship between the client, the Guanacaste landscape, and a true gem of a site. Located on Finca Panamá, on the outskirts of the town of , the plot of land dominates the valley that is protected by the mountains. The plot is completely oriented toward the valley and a strip of sea, and its position reminds one of the amphitheaters of antiquity; an invitation to the contemplation of time and space on a stage of continuous movement.
The Wooloowin House sits on a very steep, west facing site with distant views towards the Samford Valley. The inherent tension between the distant mountain view and the ferocity of the summer sun from this direction led to a strategy of enabling a much more dynamic occupation of the site than is typical in these buildings.
It has been five years since we joined the architecture firm Takenaka Corporation in Tokyo. We found a good chance to purchase this second-hand apartment and planned to renovate it as a personal project. The concept is "wonder the one room". We aimed to create a "one room" where you can feel the presence of the spiral staircase and skylight anywhere by dividing the space not with a wall but a curtain to unite the space and create a light atmosphere.
