How to add video to Google Slides for a more powerful presentation

Added: 11.05.2017 11:00 | 9 views | 0 comments

A snoozer slide deck can tank the best presentation no matter how strong your message. By including a short video in your slide deck, you can both clarify key points and spark an emotional response in your audience. Here are three ways to add video to a Google Slide.

YouTube

YouTube’s integration with other Google products makes it possible to find and add a video without leaving your slide deck. Here’s how:
1) Go to the slide to which you want to add a video. Click Insert from the top menu, then scroll down and select Video.
2) In the Insert video window that opens, you’ll see tabs labeled Search, By URL, and Google Drive. By default, the Search tab is active. Type some relevant keywords in the YouTube search window and click the magnifying glass icon.

Taking back ownership of your data is rough. I’ve been trying to de-Google my life for almost a year, and I still haven’t mastered it. I still need my Google account and Gmail address to use my Android phone. I still use Google maps. And I still use Google Drive when I need to collaborate on documents. Update, 5/3/17: Google is beginning to roll out the new version of Allo, which will include chat backups, group incognito mode, and link previews.
When Allo 9.0 arrived earlier this month, there wasn’t much to talk about. Aside from bug fixes and performance improvements, the update brought nary a new sticker pack to play with. But according to , a new update rolling out to users will bring some interesting features.
Backups have been a major issue with Google's messaging clients, but the new version of Allo takes a major step toward changing that. According to Fulay, the update brings support for chat backups and restores, a feature  in a deep dive into the APK. Presumably the feature will allow you to back up your chats to Google Drive, which can then be synced to a new phone, along with any images and videos. Google is also expanding incognito to include group chats and link preview, which will give you a snapshot of what's inside a URL before you click on it.
