The Evil Within 2 Review A Spectacular Improvement I The Koalition

Added: 24.10.2017 3:41 | 3 views | 0 comments

Max Moeller of The Koalition writes: The Evil Within is a divisive franchise. The first game was directed by Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami, and was anticipated as his long-awaited return to horror. Upon release, many people loved the game (and much more hated it), but both sides agree that the game was not so much survival horror as it was an action game with psychological horror elements. With The Evil Within 2, Mikami steps into the producer role, and director John Johanas takes the helm. Under his vision, the sequel moves away from the gritty and claustrophobic levels of Beacon hospital in favor of open areas and the more welcoming town of Union. Johanas doesnt steer the series into the survival horror experience some may have wanted, but he takes what the original game brought and refines it into a more accessible package.

Sonic Mania and its Impact on the Future of the Sonic Series

Added: 24.10.2017 3:00 | 3 views | 0 comments

There was a Sonic the Hedgehog game that came out a short while ago, you might have noticed. It was also a mighty fine Sonic the Hedgehog game, too, restoring a little swagger and glory to the series thanks to the efforts of Christian Whitehead and his team with the outstanding Sonic Mania. And within the next few weeks, hot on the heels of a critical highpoint for Sega's mascot in the modern era, there's another Sonic the Hedgehog game due out. Sonic Forces is the next mainline entry, coming some six years after the fairly decent Generations, and four years after the not-so-great Lost World. Where exactly will this one land? Gamers can't be entirely sure just yet, but many are interested to find what impact the success of Sonic Mania has had on the series - and whether any old Sonic Team series might be due a revival at any point in the future. Shun Nakamura, game designer and producer at Sonic Team, answered questions in Tokyo late last month.
