At least nine people from a single family were killed in flash floods after a sudden downpour upstream created giant waves that swept through a swimming home in Arizona on Saturday, according to BBC News. More than 100 people were swimming in the area when the flood waters suddenly hit with zero warning at Cold Springs, near Payson, AZ. The waters swept people down East Verde River as search and rescue teams have recovered bodies of nine victims so far, some of whom were found two miles away from the original spot.
