Born Again
Celeste Christy
Michelle Obama guest hosted  "The View" recently. The View version of Michelle  was more palpable than the Michelle we've come to know, but her performance was less than convincing.

She spoke about being a "strong woman" that wears her "heart on her sleeve."
Her speech-lets were Hollywood-tailored to redirect the focus of the audience away from her "mean America" declarations.

She was entertaining, and engaging, but
overall the "re-packaging" of Mrs. Obama was shallow, transparent, and diametrically opposed to the "heart" she's displayed over the past 18 months.

The Wright Context
Celeste Christi
We've been watching Barack Obama and his surrogates attempt to weather the  Reverend Wright Controversy. They all cite context. For some strange reason Obama and his defenders believe you can stand before an American and call on God to damn America without consequence. No, you can't. The consequence is we close our ears. America will not listen to a man that listens to a man that screams  "God D*** America" in any context.

Being There
LAT Blog, Top of the Ticket

In a posting this evening, Newsmax.com reports that its correspondent witnessed Sen. Barack Obama attending one of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's anti-white sermons on July 22 and nodding his head in agreement with the black congregation.

The report on the conservative website directly contradicts the Democratic presidential candidate's recent statements that while he denounced the pastor's controversial anti-American and anti-white rhetoric, he had never heard such declarations himself in church or in private.

I Am Not the Man I Know
Obama & Guns & Truth
Joe Carol
Barack Obama uses the same excuse over and over for everyone he's associated with since entering politics. Wright, Ayers, Dohrn, Rezko, Pfleger, etc. In each case he claims innocently, "...that is not the man I know..." Now it appears he will have claim this about himself.

Over the last 12 years Obama has stated repeatedly that he believes the D.C. handgun law is constitutional. He said he wants guns kept unloaded under double lock. He supported a felony charge for gun owners whose firearm was stolen if that stolen gun causes harm in the future, and voted to restrict the sale of ammunition .

Obama
sees no constitutional barrier to a complete ban on the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns. In 1996 he supported that ban when he ran for the Illinois Senate . In 1998, he said he favored a ban on the sale or transfer of all semiautomatic firearms, which includes many handguns, rifles and shotguns.

His current
statements in support of the 2nd Amendment are diametrically opposed to his record. His statements and actions over the last 12 years seriously infringe upon 2nd Amendment gun rights:

1)
Force gun makers to take financial responsibility for gun crime.
2)
 Restrict American access to ammunition.
3)
Lock weapons away so we can't get them when we need them.
4)  If we use them in self defense. prosecute us.

In 1996
Obama supported jail time for a man that killed an intruder in his home in self defense:
